How To Make A Manhattan
Dr. Sunshine shows you how to make the best Manhattan you've ever had from the comforts of your own home.
The Manhattan is a fundamental cocktail when we think about the basic structures of different styles of cocktails.
Recipe below.
When making cocktails like Manhattans and Martinis, remember the Vermouth is just as important as the spirit you use.
Vermouth should be stored in the refrigerator after you open it. Use your vermouth within 60 days of opening it. It will turn to vinegar when it gets old and you will not enjoy your cocktail.
Dr. Sunshine's Manhattan:
2 oz (60 ml) Rye or Bourbon Whiskey
1 oz (30 ml) Italian (Sweet) Vermouth
2 Dashes Aromatic Bitters
Stir ingredients over ice for about 40 revolutions. Use a chopstick or bar spoon to stir. Strain ingredients into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a marasca cherry or an orange coin.
